The BSA Analyst assists the BSA Department in maintaining and supporting BSA-related systems, applications, and technology to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements.
The scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to testing, tuning, monitoring, reporting, and other data management tasks.
Responsibilities:
Act as an administrator and technical liaison for all software systems used by the bank to comply with BSA, OFAC, and the USA PATRIOT Act.
Assist with the maintenance of systems used by BSA and ensure they are performing appropriately, conduct periodic evaluations, and make recommendations for modifications and efficiencies.
Oversees systems changes, updates, and maintenance of BSA/AML applications.
Assist BSA Officer in contracted model data validations.
Maintain an advanced working knowledge of all Bank systems and processes as they relate to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance.
Provide subject matter expertise for business line projects to ensure BSA/AML and OFAC risks are appropriately managed.
Develop and maintain system reporting specific to BSA metrics and data, including ad-hoc reporting which may be relied upon by Executive management.
Provide support to the BSA Officer during regulatory exams and independent testing engagements.
Update procedures related to BSA operating changes, new regulatory requirements, or risk-based enhancements.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent with some related work experience.
Three to five years of bank compliance experience, with a strong preference for BSA/AML experience and a focus on data analysis, or equivalent combination of education and overall experience.
Experience with Verafin is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
