We require a high school diploma, and prefer previous animal handling experience, but will train the right person.
Starting wage is $13/hour, but increases with experience and technician certification.

This is a full time position.
Technician assistant job responsibilities Hold animals during veterinary procedures.
Clean and maintain kennels, animal treatment areas, exam and operating rooms.
Fill medication prescriptions.
Assist veterinarians in examining animals to determine the nature of illnesses or injuries.
Assist doctors in surgery procedures.
Monitor anesthesia.
Monitor animals recovering from surgery and notify veterinarians of any unusual changes or symptoms.
Clean, maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment.
Educate clients on animal health care, nutrition or behavior.
Perform dental procedures, nail trims and laser therapy.
Place IV catheters, draw blood.
Run diagnostic tests and take radiographs.
Performs reception duties such as scheduling appointments or helping customers.
Other duties as requested.
Physical requirements Able to lift up to 50 pounds Endure sitting, standing and walking on hard surface floors for extended periods Able to type information into the computer Able to work in noisy work conditions EOE Please submit cover letter and resume.
