This position performs various administrative, analytical, and technical duties related to the City's federal Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and HOME programs.
Position conducts research on programs and grants available to the community, prepares various reports, provides professional staff assistance to the Community Development Department, and the City's Housing Commission.
The position is also responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of programs and policies of the public housing agency and ensuring efficient and effective administration and execution of all agency business.
This position receives direction from the Planning and Community Services Manager and exercises direct supervision over positions such as Community Service Specialists and/or other part-time Community Services staff.
Equal Opportunity Employer Qualifications Position requires an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, management, social work, accounting, or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in Housing Choice Voucher and CDBG/HOME program management, administration of other housing or social service programs, regional or community development, or related field OR a high school diploma, or equivalent, supplemented by additional coursework/skills in business administration, public administration, management, social work, accounting, or related field and a minimum of five years of experience in Housing Choice Voucher and CDBG/HOME program management, administration of other housing or social service programs, regional or community development, or related field.
Position also requires the possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license with good driving record.
Inspector certification, or ability to obtain, from the Iowa Association of Housing Officials, as needed, and other HUD-required certifications are desirable.
Special Requirements Post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
